(AHP) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Avera Health and a South Dakota domiciled health maintenance organization (HMO), providing health care benefit options to employers based in select areas of South Dakota and Iowa. AHP currently provides coverage for over 20,000 individuals. While our offices are located in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, AHP provides a comprehensive health care delivery system throughout central and eastern South Dakota, as well as some areas in North Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, and Nebraska. AHP insures both small and large employers with benefits that include: In and Out of Network Benefits, Office Copays, Preventive Health Benefits, Employee Assistance Program, Assigned Account Representative, Choice of Deductibles, and more. Avera Health Plans Benefit Administrators (AHPBA) is the self-insured division of AHP offering administrative services and supplemental products to employer groups with 75 or more benefits eligible employees. AHPBA obtains quotes from a number of 'A rated' or higher Stop Loss carriers to provide the employer with the best options available. AHPBA representatives will meet with the employer to provide benefit consultation during the quoting process and continually throughout the plan year. AHPBA also offers its self insured clients options to purchase Medical Management services, Employee Assistance, Section 125 and COBRA Administration, and Life, Dental and Disability Insurance products.
